Elli Adkins, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Approach to Therapy
Our past experiences can impact how we navigate the present. Understanding and processing our experiences can lead to healing and transformation. My priority is creating an open and safe space to explore these experiences through genuine connection, empathy and acceptance. I use a person-centered and trauma-informed approach to therapy that draws on techniques from attachment theory, somatic therapy, EMDR, parts work (internal family systems therapy), psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and others that align with your unique needs, values and goals.
I specialize in trauma and PTSD, depression, and anxiety, but I have worked with a variety of issues including bipolar disorder, substance abuse, difficult relationships, borderline personality disorder, dissociation, domestic violence, life transitions, low self-esteem, grief, psychosis, ADHD and autism.
Credentials
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Certified Counselor, and I am EMDR certified through the EMDR International Association. With over eight years of experience, I have worked with teens, adults, and elders across various settings, including community rehabilitation, psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment centers, and outpatient mental health agencies. This diverse background allows me to effectively support individuals managing everything from daily stressors to severe mental health conditions. I would love to connect with you and help navigate a path towards healing.
