Approach to Therapy

Navigating life can feel challenging and overwhelming, no matter what stage you’re in. Each person is unique, with their own experiences, challenges, and story to tell. Whether you’re navigating a life transition, looking for tools to manage symptoms, or needing a safe space to process difficult life experiences, you deserve the opportunity to feel heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful changes. My approach to therapy centers on understanding your story and working collaboratively with you to have autonomy over your life.

In my clinical work, I primarily draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), while incorporating other therapeutic approaches to meet your specific needs. I believe the therapeutic relationship is a powerful foundation for meaningful change. In my work, I strive to create a safe space where you feel comfortable exploring difficult emotions, patterns of thinking, and ways of being that may not align with your life goals/values. Together, we will explore and build insight into your life experiences while incorporating skills and tools that allow you to tolerate distress and celebrate life’s little wins.

My clinical work has primarily focused on working with college students, graduate students, student-athletes, and adults navigating life transitions. I have experience working with adults facing various psychological issues such as generalized anxiety, performance anxiety, depression, trauma, relational issues, grief and loss, and stress/burnout, identity development, and ADHD.

About Me

I was born and raised in Hawaii, and I am passionate about sharing my culture and background with others. After graduating from high school, I moved to Newberg, Oregon, to pursue my undergraduate degree at George Fox University, where I later completed my doctorate in Clinical Psychology. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at Florida State University in their university counseling center. I am currently a postdoctoral resident working toward licensure under the supervision of Dr. Coppersmith.

Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new places, trying new restaurants with friends, watching sports with my partner, and spending time outdoors whenever the Oregon sunshine makes an appearance!
